comes home from work and asks what he is making. Ralph replies.
"Spaghetti, lima beans, mashed potatoes, and hot dogs." Alice objects

and says she is going to change her clothes. She wants to hurry up
and eat becasue she has to go back into work this evening. Ralph does
not like that idea, because they were supposed to go to the movies.
Alice says that this is the busy time of the year and that Tony, her
boss, is picking her up shortly. When Alice describes the working
environment, Ralph gets insecure because she is the only lady in the
office. Alice tries to reasssure him that nothing is going on.
Ralph's insecurity grows when Alice tells him that in order to get the
job, she had to tell Tony that she lives with her brother. Enraged,
Ralph insists that Alice quit her job. Alice says she will not quite
because of their financial situation. She also gives Ralph an
ultimatum that if he does anything to jeopardize her job, he will
regret it for the rest of his life. Soon, Tony knocks on the door,
and Ralph lets him in. Ralph's insecurity is further stoked when Tony
turns out to be a tall, skinny, handsome middle-aged man. Tony tells
Ralph that he thinks his sister is 'fine' and asks Ralph if he can
have a date with her. Ralph tells him that Alice is going steady with
a prize fighter who can really hit hard. Tony then tells Ralph that
he is surprised that they are siblings, because he does not see any
family resemblance. As Tony puts is, Alice is a very nice full-

bedroom with Alice and you hear a muffled argument. Alice and Ralph
emerge from the bedroom. After some discussion, Ralph convinces the
two that they should work in the apartment for the evening.
