arrives for a visit. After a minute of conversation Ralph comes home with a
suitcase in hand. He tells Alice that he found it a month ago, and since
nobody claimed it, the suitcase was now his. Alice asks what is in it, and Ralph
replies that there cannot be anything of value, otherwise it would have been
claimed by now. Ralph asks Alice if she can give him some money for his lodge
dues. He begs and pleads when she refuses. Alice will not give in, and she
leaves to go to Trixie's apartment. Norton enters the apartment and convinces
Ralph to open the suicase. Both men are speechless when they see all of the
money. Alice returns and knows that something is wrong, but Ralph does not
listen.

with Ralph telling him that he quits. The apartment is completely redone with
brand new furniture. When Alice returns from running her errands, she scolds
Ralph for spending too much money.

enters the apartment and interrupts his conversation. She says that Tommy Doyle
(a person Ralph paid $100 to take clothes to a dry cleaner) was in jail for
passing a counterfeit $100 bill. Alice tries to persuade Ralph to go to the
police and simply explain the problem. Ralph says he will do no such thing,
fearing that he will be put in jail for a long time. Alice leaves to go visit
Tommy Doyle's mother to explain what happened. As she leaves, Norton enters the
apartment asking Ralph if he should put the car in the garage. Ralph replies,
"Jst fill it with gas and point it toward Mexico!" As Ralph is explaining what
happened, there is a knock at the door. Ralph decides to destroy the evidence
by putting the money in the oven and setting it on fire. The two people are the
criminals who want their counterfeit money back. Ralph thinks that the two are
detectives. Finally, the real cops show up and take everybody to jail.
The final scene shows Ralph apologizing to Alice. Ralph explained to the cops
how he came in possession of the money, and no charges were files against him.
He did however, have to return all the items he bought with the counterfeit money.
